Vintage 1990s Mambo Graphics "Mambo Theology" Tee by Reg Mombassa
A genuine holy grail piece for vintage Mambo and Australian pop-art collectors. This tee features the acclaimed "Mambo Theology" artwork originally illustrated by Reg Mombassa in 1992, depicting "Mr House-Music and her son the curious little dog trumpet discuss the afterlife" (referencing Mombassa's own band Dog Trumpet).
Front chest carries the classic circular Mambo astrological zodiac wheel, while the back showcases the complete surreal comic panel with the famous punchline: "Are there any fascists in heaven mummy?". The original 1992 lithograph of this exact artwork is permanently archived in the National Gallery of Australia (NGA).
Comes in an authentic sand/cream colorway, classic 90s boxy cut, complete with the original black Mambo neck label. Fabric and screen prints are in remarkable shape for a 30+ year-old garment.
